Mandi is an artist, but to pay the bills she works at her friends adult entertainment club. A wig and contacts are required, and it gives Mandi a sense of anonymity. She hardly recognizes herself. She considers herself a Plain Jane and the disguise gives her a little freedom. Freedom to lust after Jaz. He’d never want the real her, so why not fantasize?
Jaz is a multi-faceted man. A lot of depth, he has a creative streak that is constantly emerging in everything he does. Successful even though he had a rough start, he is aware his appearance can be a bit much for the regular world. Tats, bald and big; most would like to avoid him in an alley. Does the waitress he lusts after feel the same? Apparently not, as he’s just been asked to be her birthday present by his foster sister. He has to think about it but knows the answer is yes. And he vows to make it her best birthday ever.
Mandi loves her best friend, but she slips into Goddess territory when she gifts her with her greatest desire for her birthday. Jaz is hers for twenty-four hours. Whatever will she do with him? And one he sees the real her, will he even be interested?
Visual is a big deal to men, so Mandi’s concern was valid. What she didn’t take into account is how attractive she really is. Jaz gives her a huge ego boost when he’s even more attracted to the real her. Seems it was her essence that turned him on, not wigs and contacts. While they have sex in every position and place, the story is really about (for me) Mandi finding confidence in herself and believing that she is valuable to someone. Jaz is a dream come true, even though his description is kind of nightmarish. Never judge a book by it’s cover should be his mantra. All in all, a good read that shows sometimes, a couple just needs a well-intentioned push to get together.
By night, Mandi is a waitress in her best friend’s adult entertainment club, complete with long raven hair and bright blue eyes. By day, she’s a boutique jewelry maker with a flair for the occasional naughty design. She’s shy, quiet, a definitive Plain Jane—and completely in lust with the one man who wouldn’t ever be interested in her. He’s big, menacing, and inspires every one of her dirty girl desires. If birthday wishes came true, he would be hers.
Tattoo artist. Business owner. Lover of vintage cars. Drummer. Jaz is far from the average guy. Built like a brick wall and inked from head to toe, he can scare the faint of heart with just a look, but faint of heart isn’t what interests him, isn’t what fuels his fantasies and keeps him hard from dawn to dusk. It’s her—the waitress, his sister’s friend, the birthday girl.
Mandi is given the best present ever—Jaz. And she’s got one night to make every wicked thought and erotic dream she’s had about him come true.
