Home in Your Arms

This was a quirky read based somewhat on the Wizard of Oz. I think every woman knows something about this story line but this takes it into darker/erotic territory.

Lexi finds herself in Sinoda (which is Adonis spelled backwards – I’m weird that way) after her house is sucked up in a tornado and deposited in a place that is definitely not Oklahoma. I guess that’s what you get for living in Tornado Alley. She finds herself under suspicion and holding a people’s hope in her hands. And changes going on that she can’t explain, like her attraction to the Royal Guard Ian.

This was a fun quick read that showed imagination. I must say that Ian rubbed me the wrong way a few times with his attitude, and some choices he made had me scratching my head. The romance between Lexi and Ian started off quick and hot but lost something as the story went on. And I really didn’t care for the rather abrupt ending, and the absence of an epilogue (a pet peeve of mine).

A lot of the secondary characters were as interesting, if not more, than the main characters. And while I wish there had been a more descriptive ending, I can only speculate that means the author intends to continue the story line.

Book Blurb for Home in Your Arms

Swept away in a tornado, Lexi lands in a magical realm where evil witches threaten everything. Lexi’s only hope of getting home is Ian, the hot leader of the royal guard. As soon as she sees him, she feels a connection to him that leaves her panting. But something is happening to her and she needs to reach the Sapphire Palace and the king to find out what.

Ian could lose himself in Lexi, but if she turns out to be a witch, he’ll be forced to kill her when he’d rather be loving her. Their few moments together show that there is definitely heat between them, something Ian wants more of.

Getting Lexi to safety is urgent but the Witches are doing everything to stop them, including kidnapping Ian and Lexi launches a desperate plan to free him. With help from others, she faces the Witches and learns the truth about herself. Along the yellow-brick road, Lexi and Ian’s love blossoms…almost as if it were magic.
