Hero Unleashed

Heroes of Saturn, #2

Lucian is full of angst and busy punishing himself for something he had no control over. When confronted with Amaryllis, exiled Princess of his homeworld, he is fighting his desire for her as well as his guilt in failing the royal family. I really liked that a lot of the story focused on Lucian and the dark place he put himself in. Amaryllis is his shining light and savior, if only he’ll let her be.

I initially didn’t like Amaryllis because, as intended, I saw her as a snobby princess. She’s everything but and that is why she never fit in court on her homeworld. The few she really let know her are loyal and love her and her true talents are revealed later in the book at the climactic scene at the end. With the emotional bloodletting that went on in this book it kept me intrigued and hooked to the unexpected but wholly welcomed end. I look forward to books for the two remaining male characters the author dangled in front of me.

This is book two in the Heroes of Saturn Series about refugees and exiles from a planet similar to earth but different enough to make them appear to have super powers like Superman. They even have a kryptonite on our planet. The first book featured Kristos and Brett, and this book concentrates on Kristos’ brother Lucian. Both were exiled from their planet when the queen was murdered, as they were her royal guard. This book focuses on an assassin sent to kill Princess Amaryllis. The assassin just happens to have a major grudge with Lucian, his former commanding officer and General, so that just adds more complexity to the plot. A very entertaining read.

Book Blurb for Hero Unleashed

Book two in the Heroes of Saturn series.

Princess Amaryllis should have been sad to be exiled from her home on the Saturn moon, but on Earth she finds freedoms she never imagined existed. She embraces her new home with big, open-mouthed kisses and establishes herself as a prominent businesswoman catering to the humans’ most intimate desires.

When the former head of her father’s guard enters her domain, he rouses not only old insecurities but also a burning desire to see him lose the formal constraints and succumb to the promise in his command.

Lucian Kilsgaard was a warrior without a mission until he received word that an assassin had been sent to ensure the exiled princess does not return to reclaim the throne. He goes to warn the princess and instead of the unconfident, impulsive girl he remembers, he finds a bold temptress. How can he protect her when all he wants is to sink into her softness? He vows the line between protector and lover will never be crossed, yet Amaryllis will test his resolve until he takes exactly what he needs.
