Jace has known Sarah forever. He is best friends with her older brother and has watched her turn into a beautiful woman. With her brother overseas with the military, he fulfills the request of his friend to watch over her. Since his feelings for her have changed to that of a man for a woman he has no problem keeping other men at bay. But when Sarah brings home quiet Jasper, he doesn’t get too upset. The man can barely form a sentence. Knowing he can never pursue her due to his bisexuality, he relaxes thinking Jasper safe.
Sarah has loved Jace for years but knows he will never feel the same. He sees her as a responsibility to her brother. When she meets Jasper she’s drawn to him partly because he is the exact opposite of Jace. But it doesn’t stop her from fantasizing about both men. With her. And together.
Jasper and Sarah have been together four years and are finally ready to make love. It’s amazing and beautiful, and Jace hears the whole thing. Overwhelmed with emotions ranging from rage to jealousy he doesn’t know which way to turn. When Jasper finds a dead woman while on the job he and Jace are thrown together. A dormant attraction explodes between them and Sarah is quick to catch on. Could her fantasies, as well as Jace's, become a reality? Could they become three?
This was an in-depth look into the development and evolution of a committed threesome. No strangers to one another, each step done with clarity, albeit clouded with passion. These weren’t people who picked one another up in a bar and decided to go with it. Jace was so sad with his perception of himself as a "third." His previous partners hurt him terribly and Jasper and Sarah were relentless in their pursuit of him and in assuring him of his equality. Jasper’s low self-esteem and family issues added to the drama and emotional angst. Sarah was the healthiest of them all emotionally and was the glue of the trio. The mystery of the murders and the development of the love triad had me glued to this book. Highly recommended.

Deputy Jace Maxwell looks out for Sarah Tennison, and wants her. Although the fiery feisty woman is a friend, he knows he can’t have her. Because as much as he craves Sarah, he also lives with a secret, fierce attraction for men. And Sarah just won't understand.
Sarah has suppressed her love for Jace, knowing he only sees her as a chore. Enter cowboy Jasper Simmons. Jasper is as sweet and gentle as Jace is hard. Sarah tries to keep both men separate in her mind, but can’t stop fantasizing about being tangled and sweaty in bed with both of them.
When Jasper finds a dead woman nailed to a tree, he is thrown into contact with Jace. The proximity unearths an attraction neither of them had felt before. Seeing Jace with Jasper in an emotion-filled situation gets Sarah wondering if her roommate is keeping secrets. Then Jasper admits to Sarah he once had a crush on another man, Jace suddenly kisses her in a shocking lapse of control, and suddenly Sarah's fantasies are taking on a vivid reality.
Will sweet, awkward Jasper be the key to two becoming three?
