Who wouldn't love a man willing to kill for them? Come on; admit it. The PC man of today vacillates over swatting a fly, but Gage is guns blazing when Neeka is in danger. My heart goes pitter patter.
Violence is the name of the game in this quick read, so if you don't like it, don't read it. Both Gage and Neeka have an immediate visceral reaction that just increases the longer they are together. And it isn't that long, but it is enough to start a process in Gage that is foreign to him but also brings to the surface an unexpected chivalry that begs him to just walk away. He's sullied where Neeka is not. But that's not how Neeka sees it. There were some gaps in the resolution of their relationship and I would have liked more detail.
The sex was a slow simmer that went from zero to sixty. The epilogue was appreciated and left the reader with a promise for more.
Gage Mack: former SEAL and trained killer. He’s been contracted to find Neeka, the missing daughter of one of the wealthiest men in the country. It was supposed to be a search and rescue mission, but what Gage doesn't expect to find is an entire underground operation with chemically and genetically modified soldiers.
When Gage rescues Neeka, the attraction she feels is instant. But he’s dangerous and has no problem killing right in front of her. As they fight to survive, and escape the twisted prison she’s been trapped in, Neeka realizes her kidnapper has other plans for her.
Can she escape the clutches of a madman wanting to use her as a reproduction vessel for his twisted plans? Can she keep her emotions for Gage locked down during all the chaos? Does she even want to fight?
