Faire Fugitive

We are dropped into the middle of Devin’s nightmare. We are introduced to a resourceful savvy young man who is terrified and isolated. When he encounters the Ren Faire and steals an amulet he finds his life going in a whole different direction that offers hope, love and security. Dare he risk it?

I really liked Devin and the fact that even though he was a petty thief he had a few morals and personal boundaries. When the author described Ezra and how he looked at Devin it was a pretty awesome moment. While the characters had chemistry, I felt they weren’t as developed as they could be, especially Ezra. As the story progresses we find out more about Ezra, but just scratch the surface. I struggled with that.

I enjoyed the in-depth look at Renaissance Faire life with the added spark of paranormal. I would have liked a little more detail about that other than it is just a given. How did it start? Why? Is it powered by a person since it seems to have a personality? Then there is Max and what is fueling him in his fiendish pursuit of his one-time best friend Devin. If there are more stories involving the Faire I am intrigued enough to read them, and wouldn't mind knowing how Dev and Ezra are doing in the process.

Book Blurb for Faire Fugitive

Devin visits the Renaissance Faire with one goal in mind: to pickpocket enough money for another cross-country dash. His would-be killer is on his tail again, and he needs to get the hell out of town. Once inside the gates, he finds himself under the scrutiny of Ezra, the handsome bartender. But Devin is on a mission, and while he relieves the costumed masses of their money, he also steals a magical amulet from a seemingly-abandoned jewelry case.

An amulet that happens to be Ezra's.

Devin's hunter corners him before he can skip town, but Devin escapes with his life and a nasty bullet wound to one arm. He passes out in his car. When he regains consciousness, he finds himself at the mercy of the man he'd stolen from. A man interested in a lot more than the return of his property...
