Dr. Sophie Gable has been playing hide and seek with Thomas Nicasio for a while now. While she’s interested, and she’s pretty sure he is too, he never makes a move to ask her out. Confused but attracted, that confusion grows exponentially when he shows up at her summer home looking dazed and confused. Sporting signs of a fight, he seems to need her in more ways than one.
Thomas Nicasio is a man on the edge. With his brother and nephew dead, and the FBI accusing his adoptive father of being the head of the Chicago mob, he doesn’t know which way to turn. When he thinks of safety Sophie’s fills his mind and he needs to be near her. And with her. In all ways.
I’ll admit I was a little disappointed in the start of this book. I had a hard time getting involved and actually walked away from it for a few days. But when I got going again, it all started to come together and then I couldn’t put it down. Explosive is an apt title, as the relationship between Sophie and Thomas is that and more. The backstory of Thomas’s father and his brother and nephew kept the very physical and erotic book moving along. While I never got tired of Thomas and Sofie’s encounters, there were a lot of them. This was a good hot read with enough story thrown in to keep it from getting repetitive.
