Enforcer's Craving

Dragon Alliance, #1

Set in an alternative universe (I think) aliens (who look like humans with a few aesthetic differences) are stealing women from Earth to help repopulate their home planet. The home planet is divided into two factions; one good and one not so good. The not so good are stealing the women from Earth; the good are stealing the stolen women from the not so good. Confused yet? Don't be, it was really an interesting take on a somewhat familiar story line. Then we have the politics.

Enforcer's Tarkan and Ari deserve the prize they are stealing, but politics dictate otherwise. The prize in question is human women, but hey, they didn't steal them from their planet, just from the bad guys who did. But it isn't fair the rich and favored get the women. Of course, this is the good factions first encounter with human women and they are in for quite a treat. Not only do human women not like to be told what to do, they do something about it.

I reallllly liked the heroine Chelsea. Scared and confused, she holds it together (mostly) and analyzes her circumstances before making any decisions. Luck played a large part in her good fortune with Ari and Tarkan, but the chemistry seemed believable if a little unorthodox. I liked the exotic aspects of the planet and the sentient beings who occupy it and how they interpreted the humans place in their hierarchy. This starts off what promises to be a good series, with a cliffhanger of sorts that intrigues.
