Do you believe in happily ever after? Beth was in a hiding from her past existence. She was now a penitent woman, living in a remote area of Pennsylvania, being a Goodmaid. Ten years she has denied her bodies needs, desires.
Stephen is an undercover investigative reporter. He is being punished by his boss for overspending on his last assignment and is sent to the Compound, a sect that believes in hard work and denial of lust, for his next story. He knows he is being punished, but did he just stumble on the biggest story of his career?
I LOVED this book. The chemistry between Beth and Stephen is electric. All the elements of the original fairy tale are present, but written in a fresh and creative way. I was really impressed by how the author incorporated all the original elements so recognizable to anyone who ever read the original fairytale. It doesn't hurt the sex is steamy, too. Definitely a recommended read, and I will be anxiously awaiting the other fairytales this author decides to reinterpret.
When a woman is ripe for the picking . . .
Beth Cordova's life is no fairy tale. Having barely escaped the evil grasp of her wicked stepmother, this “missing princess” seeks refuge in a strict commune where carnal pleasures are forbidden.
Sometimes just one bite of the apple . . .
Her world is lonely and void of intimacy, until the charming Stephen Trent arrives at the commune. Suddenly Beth yearns for a man's touch, the feel of his lips on hers . . . and Stephen is eager to show this pure-as-snow princess that she can still be the sensual woman she was once upon a time.
Is all it takes to unleash her desires...
But all is not what it seems, and the stunning beauty finds herself again in danger, her stepmother hot on her trail. The commune's founders will not tolerate the pair, yet fleeing its walls could prove fatal. Trapped in a world where passion is outlawed, can Beth live happily ever after?
