Serve Series, #2

We've met Will and Penelope in Garrett and Ridley's book. Now we get to see deeper. Will had no problem interfering with his brother's troubles with Ridley, but it's hands off when he's struggling with his emotions where Penelope is concerned. And emotions are just that; a problem. Will is often referred to as the Ice King in Penelope's internal dialogues and it's a moniker that fits. He stripped all emotion after his mother's abandonment and it has become a way of life for him. When he starts to connect with Penelope, he is literally not equipped to deal with it.

Penelope is an overachiever due to what she perceives as a failure to be a good daughter. But really, her parents never gave her a chance and she's taking the blame for something she had no control over. Of the two characters, I found Penelope to be the strongest personality, even though she is acting as Will's submissive. And really, despite all the fuss about doms, it's the subs who hold the real power.

I found this book to be slightly more emotionally satisfying than the first, but not as tantalizing in the sex department. And while it has a menage and more closely follows the "rules" of a BDSM relationship, I didn't like Will sharing. Fortunately, neither did he. The story moved along smoothly and I liked the glimpses into Will's family and the teases concerning his and Garrett's sister Sara. That promises to be a doozy of a story. If you like the Serve Series, this is a must read.

A sexy category romance from Entangled's Brazen imprint...

This time, all bets are off...

Penelope Carson loves to steal clients from Will Reaver. Yet something in her business nemesis's icy blue eyes makes Penelope...nervous. It certainly doesn't help that the man is the living embodiment of a Norse god. A controlled, powerful Norse god. Which she really should have remembered before she made a bet with him—because losing means becoming Will's personal submissive for a week.

There's nothing Will would like more than to have Penelope kneeling before him in complicit submission, her fiery dark eyes inviting him in. Challenging him. But their bet takes Will and Penelope deeper than either of them have ever been. Where control is an illusion, and boundaries are pushed aside. And where hearts become the stakes in a game that neither Dominant nor submissive can win...
