Afterlife

Knight's of the Board Room Series Book 4

Rachel is alone. Her marriage couldn’t stand the weight of her desire to be a submissive to a man who thought it was wrong. Her adult son’s death is the final step in her separation from society. Now she lives a quiet life teaching her yoga classes and doing her job as a physical therapist. Life has taught her to not want more, and she accepts that with grace. Until Jon.

Jon could probably teach the class he attends every week. The draw is Rachel. A true submissive he desires greatly, the wedding ring she wears keeps him at bay. After a year of torturing himself with seeing her all bets are off when he finds that while she was married at one time, she isn’t anymore. While Jon is angry at the subterfuge, he is also relieved that he can pursue his hearts desire. And pursue he does. With a vengeance.

We revisit the world of the Knights. More have met their life mate than haven’t and in this edition Jon finally finds the woman he’s been waiting all his life for. Rachel’s soul calls to his, and even though she is older than he is he isn’t going to let her use that to stop him. She needs his guidance and support to realize her true self and in the process free her from a painful past to live a happy life with him. A conventional relationship is not part of the picture, and while she craves it she also punishes herself for it. Taught submission is bad by her ex-husband it is Jon’s duty and privilege to show her that’s not true, and he uses the help of his fellow Knights to drive that point home. Very poignant and sensual, this was at times painful to read. The author evoked a lot of emotion from the characters and subsequently the reader as well. A must read if you’ve read the previous books, this furthers every woman’s fantasy of a Knight in Shining Armor.
