“There is a thin line between love and hate.”

In ReShonda Tate Billingsley’s emotional, raw, and dramatic narrative she brings to life a little girl named Brooke Green.
Brooke lives a life of wanting and desiring. She doesn’t want what many other WANT. She desires what her friends and the characters she adores from books and movies have. She desires a mother. Brooke grows up aching for the love no one in the world can give her and that is a precious jewel of a mother’s nurturing love.
From the age of seven Jacob Green her dad inform Brooke that her mom Sarah died. This falsehood is later pulled out of the closet of many skeletons.
Living a complex life of want and need for her mother she develops into a successful career woman. Although attractive and capable there are too many empty spaces in her heart and soul. Brooke is intelligent and proficient, caring to a degree enough to get engaged twice.
As a grown woman about to marry Trent she learns an unbearable truth from her dad’s deathbed.
As most individuals growing up without their maternal mother Brooke decides come hell or high water she will find this woman who walked away from her as a young girl leaving her with her dad to raise her. Bitterness prevails and the mountain of pain, disdain, lies and anger take Brooke on a whirlwind journey to investigate why she has been treated in such a horrible way.
I enjoyed this dramatic narrative of love to hate to revenge. The characters are clearly believable. Ms. Tate Billingsley manufactures a well-developed story line that processes all the twists and confusion for a rainy Saturday afternoon movie. I did find myself in a like/dislike relationship with all of the characters. This kept me reading through from my frustration to clarity.
What will Brooke say when the opportunity presents itself to Sarah after 25 years? Will Sarah welcome her long lost daughter into her heart and home? Will Brooke be ready for all the emotions, lies, and deceitful events that enveloped her life of misery? Read to find out!
Ms. Tate Billingsley will help you unravel with Brooke the web of deceit.
