Harbour of Refuge

In Aeternum, #2

The writing talent of Aliyah Burke shines through once again in her dramatic and erotic tale of family, service, sacrifice and determination. Harbour of Refuge is set in the luxurious Monte Carlo and is the second book in the Aeternum series.

Heroine Halyn Jennings embraces the strength and gentle energies of a protective lioness. This combination in my opinion is so endearing, exotic and exciting. Throughout Harbour of Refuge the reader becomes entangled in the web of suspense and carnality as the main characters engage in spirited dialogue, physical and emotional conflicts as well as triumphs. Ms. Burke's dynamic writing style and use of every story element creates a signature and well-balanced. It moves swiftly. There are segments that causes the reader to wonder about the development of the relationship of Enzo Cassano and Halyn Jennings. There are complexities. Harbour Refuge ignites a wide range of sensations from euphoria to the doldrums of depression. WOW what a ride and so appropriate in the hands and heart of Enzo, a speedboat racer.

It was delightful being with characters I embraced in the first read, Casanova in Training; Gio, Jaydee and Lexy.

Harbour of Refuge brings to center stage Gio's youngest brother Enzo Cassano and the fast life he lives as a professional speedboat racer. His life contains plenty of hot sexy women, fame and mindless fun. He he takes life through its paces. There are too many women to remember, that is until he encounters the voluptuous Halyn Jennings whose attitudes and viewpoints of an innocent and inexperienced woman enslaves him.

Ms. Burke shares the drama involved in convincing another person of the depth of well hidden emotions. It’s often overwhelmingly challenging and not for the faint of heart or character. This is the battle of Enzo and his declaration of love for a woman from a different lifestyle and background.

I enjoy the cultural diversity Ms. Burke throws her characters into. This awkwardness often accompanies the process of creating loving bonds across cultural lines. It is so realistic and poignant.

Ms. Burke splashes the reader with a sizzling and titillating inferno of carnal acts and keeps you longing for an icy beverage to soothe the raw burn that accompanies breathing hard with your mouth a gap.

Ms. Burke delivers the passionate sexual heat that beats on and on and is so addictive.

Great reading!!!
