Montague Edwards is desperate and soon to lose his ancestral home. The Earl of Frotham seems to be an answer to his dire situation. All he has to do is seduce Abigail Debarlow. No fool, Montague wants to know the particulars before he agrees. Rumors abound about the Baroness Debarlow. She married the elderly aristocrat for his money, according to the gossips. She is also a patron at the selective Cavern of Pleasures. When Montague hears this, he determines to fulfill all her fantasies.
Abigail Debarlow is not only seeking her pleasure, she is also seeking revenge against the Earl. By marrying his son, she can achieve her revenge. She is soon sidetracked by Montague.
Of course, in the end, Abigail finds out about the plot between the Earl and Montague. This is where the story becomes rushed and lacks detail. Abigail confronts Montague which I applauded, but beyond that, the story skips time. I liked Abigail's forthrightness. I liked that she confronted Montague with no qualms. Overall, Binding the Barroness was a very enjoyable read.
"Ten thousand pounds if you will seduce the Baroness Debarlow."
To save his estate of Chelton, Montague Edwards, a known rake, agrees to the Earl of Frotham's proposition. The Earl intends his son, the Viscount Tremayne, to marry well, but the Viscount has fallen instead for the scandalous Lady Debarlow.
To Abigail Debarlow, marrying the young Viscount is a means to avenging her mother's death. Her plans to elope with the Viscount, however, are upended by the handsome Montague Edwards. An accomplished seductress herself, she nonetheless finds herself at risk of succumbing to his advances.
When Montague discovers that Lady Debarlow is a patron of Madame Botreaux's Cavern of Pleasures, he kidnaps the Baroness and takes her to Chelton with the intention of fulfilling her every fantasy. But he soon finds he wants to do more than bind her body...
Failure to seduce the Baroness means he loses Chelton. But successfully seducing her may mean losing her altogether.
