Michael and Josh have been friends since they were kids. They were each other's first sexual encounter and have remained close friends over the years. Josh and Ian have been married for ten years and have a solid, loving, monogomous relationship. During this time Michael was involved in a very bad relationship filled with physical and emotional abuse. He's been in therapy and while he's healing in many ways he still can not be intimate with another person. Out of the blue Ian suggests that Josh be the one to help his friend regain his ability to be intimate and the two men begin having sex again. As the story goes on Ian joins in and over time the men have to start dealing with the fact that this is not just sexual anymore.
This book takes on an interesting topic and a different perspective of menage relationships. I liked all three of the guys and I found the way things unfolded to be belieavable. I felt though that the topic was pretty heavy and needed to be looked at in more depth. Much of the book is sex scenes. Hot sex scenes I admit but there was more focus on them than the emotional aspects of this blended relationship. They don't deal with the emotional fallout of adding a person into a marriage until the very end of the book and it was superficial at best. I didn't dislike the book but I also wasn't wowed by it. I think the idea was great but the execution wasn't what I was looking for. I don't enjoy books with heavy topics that are glossed over. If an author is going to take on a heavy topic I want to see all the blood, sweat and tears it takes to get to the happily ever after.
Overall this was an average read for me. I think readers looking for a lighter look at a menage relationship and/or looking for something erotic in nature will enjoy this book.
