This was another hit out of the ballpark for me by this author. I just love her and I loved this story. Tom and Cass are in a long term relationship. They have been together for nine years but sometimes invite other men into their bedroom. One night Tom meets Jake, a young waiter with Tourette's Syndrome. Despite it starting as a casual hookup Tom realizes he's captivated by Jake. Cass is aware of the dynamics and due to multiple issues of his own he is open to Tom continuing to see Jake. Jake on the other hand is not open to it. He doesn't understand the men's relationship and he doesn't want to be the third wheel. After Jake starts working for Tom the three men embark on a unique relationship.

Honestly I wasn't sure about the plot line when I started this book. Reading about open relationships is not something I generally enjoy and menage stories also usually don't work for me. This story was an exception to my rules. The author handled the storyline in a really unique way and I found it to all come together in a believable manner. I loved all three of the guys and I felt for what each of them was going through. The story is told through their different points of view which helped me to connect to them all. I especially loved how the author handled Jake's Tourette's Syndrome. I thought this aspect was especially well done.

This book had everything. It had a unique and well done plot. It had characters I immediately loved and who I really wanted a happily ever after for. It had some touching scenes and some smoking hot ones also. I can't rave about this enough and I definitely recommend this story.

Book Blurb for Misfits

Jake Thompson can hardly believe his luck when he wakes up in Tom’s bed. Tom is gorgeous, kind, and . . . taken. Tom’s explanation of his open relationship leaves Jake cold, but Tom is too tempting, and when hard times force Jake to accept Tom’s helping hand, he finds himself between two men who’ve lost their way.

Cass Pearson is a troubled soul. He loves Tom with all he has, but some days it feels like he hasn’t much to give. Jake seems like the perfect solution. Cass risks everything to push Jake and Tom together, but Jake resists, wary, until the darkness of Cass’s deprived childhood comes to call. Then Jake finds himself the last man standing, guiding square pegs into round holes, and it’s time to dig deep and shine a light for the men he’s grown to love.
