This was an engaging story about two strangers falling in love as they take a cross country road trip. Colin has dropped out of college and is returning to his family's home and restaurant business. He feels like a failure and is not happy with the state his life is in. Along the way he picks up a stranded guy at a gas station. Colin is instantly attracted to the gorgeous man who looks like a runway model. Little does Colin know but Rily actually is a runway model. One who is battling depression and an eating disorder and who is desperate to find something with meaning in his life. As the two men travel together they begin to fall in love but it soon becomes apparent that love is not going to be enough for them to make it.
This is the second book in the In Focus series although this can be read as a standalone. The couple from book one do make a few appearances here. If you have not read the first book, Trust the Focus, I highly recommend that you do. It was excellent and will be going in my top ten books of the year. This story was a bit darker than the first one and Riley has some serious demons that are haunting him. Both of the MC's were written very well and my heart went out to both of them. Riley for what he was going through and Colin for trying to help while his lover falls apart. The romance was well done and as touching in places as it was heartbreaking. It was lovely seeing Landry and Justin from book one and they have a pretty important role in this story.
I didn't like this book as much as I did book one but I still really enjoyed it. There is something refreshingly different about this author's writing style. Something about the way that she writes speaks to me. This, as well as book one, are definite recommends from me.
A sexy new romance from the author of Trust the Focus.
