I have not had the pleasure of reading the first two books in the series by Neal Shusterman but I can say that the finale book that I have read was fantastic. There was no detail left lose or hanging, every character had a final destination or goodbye. I would say that the character development was fantastic in this last book to this series.
I'am impressed with this book because I did not get the feeling as if the series was being wrapped up. Everfound is an appropriate end to an original story. Mr. Shusterman brings you into a world of fantasy, with vortexes, Mayan Kingdoms, and painted Warriors. What makes this book different from the numerous teen novels out there is the deep undertone of life, death and love. I am glad that I got to read this as it left me completely satisfied.
While Mary lies in a glass coffin aboard a ghost train heading west, her minions are awaiting her re-awakening by bringing lots of new souls into Everlost to serve her. Meanwhile Jackin’ Jill has met Jix, a fur-jacker—a skin jacker who can take over the bodies of animals, most notably jaguars. Jix serves a Mayan god who collects Everlost coins, and has his own agenda. In the concluding volume of The Skinjacker Trilogy, Neal Shusterman reveals new sides of the characters of Everlost, who are pitted against each other in a battle that may destroy all life on Earth.
