Joy Ride

Can living in gray tones make you a happy person? Or will the mere thought of color in your world make you so crazy for something different that you would be willing to risk it all just to get a splash of it on you? This was the dilemma of Emma Blake. She has been the good girl for the last 29 years of her life, always doing the right thing at the right time. But when a chance meeting with a friend from college opens her eyes to the colorful life, she can't run away from her dull predictable life fast enough. And run she did, right into the arms of Marc Malone, star bassist for rock band, Lightnin'. But will Emma's fear of the unknown keep her from the man who could in the light of day be the perfect guy for her or will she end up drenched in color from head to toe?

Looking out over the crowd, Marc, was never surprised by the things that he saw. But when he set his eyes on Emma Blake, she rocked his world to the core and he hasn't been the same since that first night. But he can tell she is holding something back. It's not just her name or where she lives, but she is guarding something big, and if only Marc could get her to open up to him the world would be in sight for the two of them. Can Marc wait until Emma is really ready or will the Rock `N Roll lifestyle be too much for Marc to reel her into for the long haul?

This was an excellent read. I had high hopes since all of the other works of Desiree Holt's that I have read were wonderful, and this book is another great read from her. Not only were the characters well developed and the sex scenes great but the story line behind everything was enough to keep me reading at break neck speeds. My only complaints, is that now the book is done and I am left wanting more. Desiree Holt would make a great addition to anyone's collection, just like she has mine, and I can't wait to get to read more of her works in the future-for reviewing purposes or just for fun.
