A human woman named Starling is captured from earth and sold as a pet on another planet. The highest bidder is a mother planning to give Starling to a destructive son: the prince. His other brother hearing of his mother’s plan finds the pet first and takes her as his own. He tells her no harm will come to her, she will be his: the king’s pet.
This started off good and I really wanted to love it. I nearly read it straight through. However, just as soon as I was falling in love with it, the story line seemed to pull back for me. I thought that Starling deserved much more and consistently got less and seemed to love Bekion so much that everything was okay. Bekion never really thought of simple things that would make the situation better. As a king, I thought he would have been able to do more for Starling. So, as much action the book had it ended up falling through for me. By my saying this I would say it was not a true romance for any romance lovers. For those who like fast paced stories, with funny commentary, and aliens, this will be a great read for you.
Starling envied the easy life of pets…until she became one. Kidnapped from Earth and sold to the highest bidder, she now belongs to an alien king. But she doesn’t want to be his pampered possession. She wants Bekion to see her as an independent woman with needs and desires of her own.
Only deviants break the laws barring sex between owners and their pets, and King Bekion has no intention of succumbing to simple lust. But the long nights with Starling’s lush body pressed tight against his take a toll. Her strength and intelligence make it difficult for Bekion to remember Starling is forbidden. He knows it isn’t right but he can’t stop thinking of his pet and all the pleasure he could give her, even if it costs him his crown.
Blush sensuality level: This is a sensual romance (may have explicit love scenes, but not erotic in frequency or type).
