Readers just entering the Reckless Hearts series can jump right into this second in the series book. It can be read as a stand alone or in sequence of the series.
Between the pages of “The Right Kind of Reckless” readers get marines and their unstoppable hearts. Plus the author adds in a bit of humor and a lots of sweetness. This is an, oh so sexy novel.
We have three guys who are marines and buddies. They went through hell with each other, watching each other's backs. But what happens when you find yourself falling for someone that is supposed to be off limits? Wanting someone you shouldn't want, your friend's sister.
“Maxwell Martinez” is man who has never gone beyond a one night stand. Now he is looking at one woman differently. He wants her, really wants her. She's the world to him. But what is the right thing to do?
Author Heather Van Fleet gives characters that are not perfect. They are filled with imperfections and that's what makes them real to the reader. She gives us the 'bro code'. You don't go against your 'bro', your best friend. But how do you not when his sister, Lia is everything to you? Only Heather Van Fleet knows and she does a wonderful job unraveling the situation.
A bit about a couple of the characters.
Lia: She is confident, at least outwardly. She has tatts and piercings. She’s in your face a bit, but inside she has some issues. She has past issues that have never been addressed. She's hurt and is desperately in need of love.
Then we have Max: Max is a one night stander. He’s never actually loved, never actually been satisfied. He has a secret and it concerns Lia.
You can't help but feel your heart warm toward Max as he goes from his one nighter’s to actually falling in love. At times the story is amusing, sometimes sad, sometimes so romantic your heart will flitter a bit. This is a romantic read that will grab at your heart strings, your heart may skip a beat and you'll fall for these characters and WANT MORE! “The Right Kind of Reckless” is a wonderful romantic read.
I'm in love with a woman I can't have, and there's absolutely nothing I can do to stop myself from falling.
The problem? Her brother's my best friend.
I shouldn't want her this much. Not when it goes against the bro code. Not when I've never been able to commit to a woman for longer than a night.
But one look into her eyes and I'm a mess for her. She's my everything. And I have to walk away with nothing.
