1867: Two out of work actresses, Ophelia Flaz and Prudence Bright are in need of employment on the S.S. Leviathan. They sneak their way into maid positions along with Mrs. Coop of Scholoss Grunewald, in the Black Forest where a castle is sitting. When they arrive at the castle, they feel they have entered a fairy tale world. The Seven Dwarfs may live in the forests around the Grunewald. In the forest is even a dwarf sized skeleton with bits of gold. Craziness has set in by everyone around about the relics. When Mr. Coop eats a poisoned apple and dies, Prue is locked in the castle's tower for the crime. Ophelia is bound to clear Prue's name, track the real murderer and even hope to find the final resting place of Snow White.
In Snow White Red-Handed the author gave the reader a little bit of everything. Readers get a bit of fantasy, mystery, murder and Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs. They possibly existed! We may not have true detectives with Ophelia and Prue but there is a lot of wit and the capability of figuring out the crime. The author even put in some humor, which made the story a light and easy read. I can't wait for the next book in this new fantasy mystery series.
