The Blade novels are absolutely fabulous. The author, Kelly McCullough, takes you into a fascinating world of characters that have many skins. You have the opportunity to follow the characters through many different scenes. Dark places such as dungeons, rooftops, lonely dark alleys and so many other places. Kelly McCullough brings you a hero who is not your perfect idea of a hero. Aral the jack and his outlook has a darkness to it. He is always on the wrong side of the law and so down on himself and life. He realizes the past is always there; it never dies.
Kelly has an extraordinary imagination. The stories are not the same boring stories in each book. The scenes and situations change along with the characters. This leads to many more books that will be bought and read. Kelly McCullough doesn't allow you time to turn those pages fast enough. Readers will be reading fast and flipping the pages.
I recommend this book to anyone. Buy it for your library or your computer. You won't be sorry.
I give this book 4 STARS.

But Aral has a new life now, with a fresh identity and new responsibilities. And while he isn’t keen on letting the past back in, the former assassin soon finds himself involved in a war that will leave him with no way out and no idea who to trust…
