Eternal Kiss of Darkness

Night Huntress World, #2

Let me start out with I am a huge Jeaniene Frost fan, I was hooked with her writing since the first book in the Night Huntress series, Halfway To The Grave. Whatever Ms. Frost writes I read, it is that simple. After reading hundreds of Paranormal romance books my favorite heroine and hero is Cat & Bones.

When Ms. Frost started doing her spinoff books from the Night Huntress series, I was excited and really enjoyed First Drop of Crimson, Spade's book. When I heard Mencheres was next, I was a little disappointed, only because I never was very fond of him in the Night Huntress series. His character I felt was a little on the flat side. Boy, was I so wrong! Ms. Frost took this character and turned him into an endearing, sexy male lead.

Eternal Kiss of Darkness is a must read for the Paranormal romance fans out there. Mencheres is a 4,000 yr old vampire who people tend to only use him for his powers and is ready for his journey of life to be over but he ends up getting swept off his feet once he meets Kira. Now, this is more than just a romance book, plenty of action happens throughout this story as Mencheres has a family member who is out to destroy him. Some of our favorites from the Night Huntress world make appearances, Bones, Cat and Vlad.

After reading Eternal Kiss of Darkness I am now a fan of Mencheres and look forward to seeing him in future Night Huntress novels. If you have not read any of the Night Huntress novels you can still read this book as a stand-alone but I highly recommend reading them so you understand the characters better. FYI for all the Cat & Bones fans out there in the end of this book is a glimpse into the next Night Huntress novel to be released 2/2011 called This Side of The Grave.

An immortal war has been brewing in the darkness . . .

And now one woman has stumbled into the shadows.

Chicago private investigator Kira Graceling should have just kept on walking. But her sense of duty refused to let her ignore the moans of pain coming from inside a warehouse just before dawn. Suddenly she finds herself in a world she's only imagined in her worst nightmares.

At the center is Mencheres, a breathtaking Master vampire who thought he'd seen it all. Then Kira appears—this fearless, beautiful . . . human who braved death to rescue him. Though he burns for her, keeping Kira in his world means risking her life. Yet sending her away is unthinkable.

But with danger closing in, Mencheres must choose either the woman he craves, or embracing the darkest magic to defeat an enemy bent on his eternal destruction.
