The old adage "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" pretty much sums up Tommy Sparks' life. He was banned from the career he loved for brawling, lost his house to a fire, and is now terrified of losing his place in his best friend's life to a new man.
Julie Rogers has been in love with Tommy since she was ten. However, after years of playing second to his career, partying and other women, Julie would love to get over the man. When a hunky fighter asks her out, she says yes but the man who views her as his sister says no.
Abby Niles is quickly becoming one of my favorite new finds as an author. This was a hot and sweet romance. I loved how the main characters found their way to each other.
Julie was a kind and genuinely likable heroine. She was strong when she needed to be but wasn't afraid to stand up for herself.
Tommy was sweet, wonderful and very devoted to Julie but was oblivious to her feelings. However, when he did realize that he wanted Julie as more than his bestie, he wasted no time going after it.
The romance was great and the chemistry between them was HOT! I thought Tommy and Julie were a great couple. I didn't want the story to end! With the secondary characters being so entertaining, I hope that there are many more books planned in this series.
