The Stalker by Shannon Rouchelle tells the story of a love triangle between Samantha Tyler, Ken Strong and Bryce Peterson. It is full of suspense as Samantha is tormented by someone who is following her, leaving her messages on the phone and breaking into her apartment. Her relationship with Ken is a strange one since his dead wife resembled Samantha and he can’t quite get over her. Bryce is her neighbor across the hall that is always after her to go out with him and seems to be available at just the right time to comfort her. Which of these two men is the stalker or is it someone else entirely? This is a short read at forty-two pages.
My thoughts: The third person narrative was irritating at times and the wording was sometimes awkward. Certain aspects of the story just didn’t seem to flow naturally or seem realistic. Other than that, the storyline did keep me reading to find out who the culprit was and the suspense was able to carry the story towards a satisfying ending.
