I love Brooklyn Ann’s Hearts of Metal series. “Forbidden Song” just adds to that joy.
This story features Cliff Tracey who is the lead singer of the rock band Bleeding Vengeance. We also get Christine Mayne who is the over protective younger sister of Quinn Mayne who is the lead singer of the rock band Vicious.
As we jump into the story Christine is wanting to work on her PhD dissertation in Psychology. She is studying the dynamic of a rock band relationships. But she has a problem. She needs a band that will let her study them. With her brother Quinn being so protective and all how will this happen?
“Forbidden Song” is quite a good story. Readers will find out a lot about the metal bands within this series. Plus you get some insight into the band Rage of Angels. Go into this book knowing this is a sweet and sensual roller coaster ride full of angst and self-realization. Past events fuel the unexpected connection between two very different people. Christine is struggling to get control of her life after a sexual assaulted during her teenage years. Her brother Quinn blames himself. It’s going to be hard for him to let her go and live her own life. She needs to live her life in her own way, especially since she is now a grown woman of twenty-three.
Christine feels she needs to tell lies to get what she wants. I didn't like the lies she felt she had to tell to her band friends even though she felt bad about it.
Now, to get the whole story to why Christine did all she did you will have to pick up "Forbidden Song". Be ready for a story where there will be drama, emotions, humorous moments, angst, passion, tears, along with some hot sexy scenes that will keep your attention all the way through this interesting storyline. I enjoyed seeing growth of both of the main characters by the end of the tale. The ending was finished up so very well and this is definitely another sweet HEAFN Happily Ever After For Now.
Womanizing rock star, Cliff Tracey represents everything that has been forbidden to Christine Mayne, which only makes him a greater temptation, especially since she discovers he’s so much more than he pretends to be.
After having one of the worst experiences a young teenager could endure at the hands of cruel musicians, Christine Mayne's rock star brother Quinn tried to lock her away from the world. She had to fight to live her life, go to college, get her master's and enter her PhD program. Now, she's determined to complete her research on group dynamics by touring with Bleeding Vengeance, even it means deceiving her brother and lying to the band's fabulous lead singer, Cliff Tracey.
Cliff Tracey hates being manipulated, lied to and deceived. He'd know, having gone through a string of exes who had done just that. When he thinks he's found a kindred spirit, and a beautiful babe to boot, imagine his surprise - and disappointment - when he learns she played him so she can tour with his band to complete her PhD. When he finds out why, he knows he's in double trouble because Quinn Mayne will kill anyone who touches his sister, and Cliff Tracey has all sorts of plans for Christine Mayne that involves more than either of them ever expected.
