Welcome to a luscious read featuring Cat and Preston. This novel continues the Kingstone Family series.
I very much enjoyed this novel thought I found it a little predicable. Even being a bit predictable it was still a good story and a second chance romance read.
I like how Preston and Kat had been friends, then moved into being lovers and then back to friends and then to lovers again. What in the world had gone on with these two you must be thinking? Well, we have soldier and his best friend's sister. That can be a hard combination. Miranda Liasson was able to bring these two together in an amusing story.
Readers will be bought many questions and the author does a great job of answering those questions. After Preston is injured both physically and psychologically, while in the military, he pushes Cat away. He feels damaged. Also Preston had a quite a ‘jack up childhood’. As for Cat, she is strong and determined. Readers get to see how Cat deals with Preston pushing her away. What will happen as these two stubborn people have to come together in Cat's sister's wedding?
In “A Man of Honor” Miranda Liasson writes a compelling story. The reader gets to feel what our military men and women go through as well as their loved ones. That part of the story was really impressive. We get to experience a love story dealing with true love, loss, pain, and real life issues. We also get to see the hope and in the end confidence.
Ms. Liasson brings out the attraction and chemistry in her characters. We get to feel the tension and even the frustration. Sometimes you just want to take the characters and give them a talking to. Overall, readers go through a full journey as the characters are well developed, flawed, relatable, portrayed and believable. The reader is given a beautiful story that will keep them turning the pages till the end.
Will these two get their HEA? Well yes, but it’s not an easy route.
I liked that epilogue!
If you are looking for an entertaining, emotional, sweet and fun read you have come to the right place. "A Man of Honor" will give you all of that and more.
I recommend this book. It has a yummy and Beautiful Cover!
Former Army Captain and venture capitalist Preston Guthrie has always had a thing for Cat Kingston, but he never felt like he could date his best friend’s sister. Plus, he’s a wrong-side-of-the-tracks guy and she’s a white-picket-fence kind of woman. Yet when they met again just before he was deployed, sparks flew. A fire ignited. And the heat was hot. For the first time, he thought a relationship with her might be possible…until an injury in the war changed everything…
Journalist Cat Kingston had a rough couple of years, surviving a broken engagement and the loss of her job. But connecting with Preston last fall seemed right. They shared steamy Skype sessions while he was overseas—until he was wounded, and cut her off without explanation. Now he’s back in town to be the Best Man for her sister’s wedding…and she wants answers.
Preston’s struggling with a leg wound, but the war scarred him on the inside, too. When Cat pays him a surprise visit and her brother catches them in a compromising position, Preston tells him they’re dating. He’s not sure how he can spend the entire wedding week fake-dating her when the chemistry between them feels anything but…
