Son of Thunder

Heavenly War Series

S.C. Mitchell has written an action-packed contemporary paranormal romance tale that deals with Viking mythology. In Son of Thunder we meet a son of Thor’s, Jord, and human being named Meghan. They are the hero and heroine of this story. Sparks start to fly between Jord and Meghan from the beginning, but Jord knows that any romantic relationship between a god and a human will not work; however, will they both decide to challenge this fact?

Other Viking gods also show up in the tale: Odin, Loki, Sif, Freyr and many others. At the beginning of this story we are on the Earth realm, but we move to other Viking realms including Vahalla, the fire giants’ realm, and the frost giants’ realm. The realms might look similar to the ones you might have read about in other books or movies, but they are not because they have added qualities such as colors and textures. There are also added structures such as houses, castles, dungeons, and other buildings. The sexual scenes in the book are OK, but the author doesn’t use graphic words. She use idioms as sheath, and other terms to describe male and female genitals.

Jord’s father has been missing for several months and his family has been looking for him but cannot find him. However, one day a mysterious brown package appears at Meghan’s museum addressed to her and inside is a belt with Norse runes on it. Meghan thinks its Thor’s strength belt but is not sure so she gives a call to a specialist in Norse runes, Jord. When he comes to take a look at the belt, he is surprised that it is his father’s belt. But when he tries to pick it up, it wraps itself around Meghan instead. It won’t come off and it starts talking to her! This is just the start of the bombshells that Megan has in the story.

Book Blurb for Son of Thunder

The man looked like a god. Then again, he was one. . .

Jord Thorson was a god– the son of Thor, the Norse God of Thunder. In his search to find his missing father, Jord seeks out the mortal, Meghan Larson, who is in possession of his only clue–Megingjörð, Thor’s magical belt of power.

But when the belt decides to take matters into its own hands, locking itself around Meghan’s waist, Jord and Meghan are plunged into the middle of a massive conflict that rages across the heavens.

Giants, magical artifacts, and a golden city in the clouds weren’t exactly what Meghan Larson expected when that amazing belt arrived at her museum. Now Megingjörð is stuck around her waist and talking to her in her head. She’s got to be dreaming, but with the wonders around her and hunky Jord Thorson at her side, Meghan’s not sure she wants to wake up.
