Kelly Hunter’s The One That Got Away will leave you breathless.
When a ghost from Logan Blacks past drifts back into his life in a most unexpected way, he struggles to restrain himself. Evangeline Jones has reinvented her life. No longer is she the submissive ‘Angie’ Logan once knew. As Evie, she is strong, successful, and in control of her life, yet Logan Blacks surprise reappearance back into her life makes her question who is really in control.
The One That Got Away is a fresh new contemporary romance. Opening with an exceedingly passionate scene featuring the sexy hero and a naïve heroine, this book knows how to appeal to fans of erotica without actually bending to that genre. Occasionally I thought that this book would swerve into the direction of tantric sex, but Kelly Hunter brilliantly pulled off a steamy non-erotic yet highly sensual and sexual plot without giving into the kinky sex trend, which makes this book all the more tantalizing.
The hero and heroine were well fleshed out as were the secondary characters. The plot was well developed, speeding up in just the right spots while slowing down when backstories needed to be added.
My only problem with this book was that it could have been longer. Not that anything was left unfinished, it was just that these characters were so interesting, I think more could have been added.
The man who’s always left her wanting more!
Good job? Tick. Newly purchased apartment? Tick. Evie’s life is on a pretty even keel at the moment. The only thing missing? A man with an edge to keep things interesting.
Enter Logan Black. Tortured, distant and sexy, Logan has edge written all over him. He’s also the man who tipped Evie over the edge a few years back—she gave him everything, but he didn’t know when to stop taking.
Leaving Logan was the hardest thing Evie’s ever done. Until now. Because Logan’s back, the chemistry is as blistering as ever and this time he’s not going anywhere…. (Harlequin Kiss)
