I loved watching "Dark Shadows" as a kid and this book will not disappoint die hard "Dark Shadows" fans. The Salem Branch picks up where the series left off. Barnabas finally has been cured, but at a terrible price. His body is failing him and there is nothing he can do about it, or so he thinks. He has married Julia and is content to finally end his long existence, but things never go as planned.
The old Collins mansion has been refurbished to an eerie exact duplicate by Antoinette who bears a striking resemblance to Angelique, the one who cursed him to live his life as a vampire.
Is there a connection and who is the new vampire that is turning Barnabas' world upside down? Now that he is mortal how can he possibly hope to protect his family? Is Angelique back to make sure that her curse holds or is it all a coincidence?
This next chapter in the Dark Shadows saga is back in a new edition, with the full measure of eroticism, spellbinding suspense, and gripping storytelling that made the original television series a timeless hit. The roots of the Collins family’s power and wealth go deep.... Barnabas Collins is ready to embark on a new life and marriage with his savior, the virtuous Dr. Julia Hoffman. But when Antoinette, a beautiful sixties flower child with a shocking resemblance to the immortal witch Angelique, rebuilds the Old House, his past returns to haunt him.
Discovering a grisly corpse in the basement—where his old casket once lay—Barnabas realizes another vampire has invaded his domain. His fight to protect his family from this new threat will take Barnabas back through time to an evil moment in America’s history: the corrupt witch trials of old Salem itself.
