Liz is psychic, garnering the ability to have prophetic dreams of death. When her boyfriend Michael is late picking her up the night of their anniversary, she dreams of him taking her someplace and begging her to remember him always. To remember how much he loves her. Awakening to a ringing telephone, Liz is informed Michael is dead.
Plagued non-stop by dreams of the night Michael died, Liz slowly pieces together the how and why of his death. Unfortunately, the dreams lead to Liz discovering Michael didn't "accidentally" die but instead was brutally murdered. Now Liz is in danger for knowing too much.
I really enjoyed In My Dreams. Filled with lots of goose bump raising action and danger with a heart-wrenching love story, I honestly couldn't put the book down. My heart broke for Liz; both because of her horrific dreams and because of Michael's death. Ms. Renae did a marvelous job drawing out Liz's dreams as she pieced together Michael's death. It didn't happen to fast but it wasn't drug on and on either. I was antsy though as I'm the type of reader that needs to know "right now" what's going on. That's, I think, what truly made this such a great story. All the perfect elements were there. Anticipation, fear, anger, I felt empathy for Liz and Michael. Bottom line all the good things readers look for in their stories can be found in the pages of In My Dreams. If you like mild paranormal stories with a strong plot line, lots of mystery and action, you should definitely give In My Dreams a shot.
It was happening again. The dreams. The nightmares. It was something that seventeen year-old Elizabeth Hayes thought she'd outgrown; dreams that would come true; detailed premonitions of how people would die. This time she dreams about her boyfriend, Michael Young, and soon discovers that he has been found... dead.
He has not crossed over because he was murdered, and now the murderer is after Lizzy. His spirit won't rest until she is safe. As a newbie spirit, the easiest way for him to make contact is through Lizzy's dreams. When she dreams, it's as if he hasn't died.
Lizzy must learn to pull on her inner strength to survive horrifying events, and is faced with a most difficult decision. Would she risk her life to save her best friend and the very person responsible for Michael's death?
Meanwhile, Michael learns everything he can about his supernatural gifts to help. But will it be enough to save her?
