The Djinn's Dilemma

Rukh O’Shay is a well-trained assassin and djinn with a problem: he is inexplicably but undeniably in lust with his next assignment. He was sent to “take out” Sarah White as quickly and efficiently as possible, but has no idea who has hired him and why they want her dead. In his eyes he sees nothing but a dedicated journalist who has no ties to the supernatural world at all. Sarah is equally as smitten by Rukh and is more than willing to take the plunge with him to see how far their feelings go. But before they can do anything about their feelings for each they have to team up to find out who wants her dead and stop them before some else gets to her first.

The book quickly establishes a fiercely passionate connection between Sarah and Rukh. While I do feel that it was a little too unbelievable for me at first to believe that their bond was so strong given the situation, I just as quickly let it go as the story is written in such a break neck pace that you really don't have time to mull over what would be considered logical reactions. I enjoyed Sarah and Rukh's interactions as they were both spicy and sweet at the same time. I actually enjoyed both protagonists and feel that they played off of each other very well. Their flaws and peculiarities made them seem more relatable, and in turn, made it easier to engage with both characters and their story.

The one issue that I have (and I really had to search for this minor criticism) is the length of the book. There were several references that had be that she would go into further detail as it would added even more excitement and tension to the story. If there are sequels it would be wonderful if the author would go back and talk about that in her stories. But this novella is still a fantastic, sexy, and fun story that you should read or re-read as soon as you can get your hands on it.
