Tainted Love

You owe it to yourself to read Tainted Love by Heather Elizabeth King. I became aware of this author under her other pen name (Adrienne Kama) several years ago and have been an enthusiastic fan ever since. She is a very talented writer that can facilely cross between several genres and never sacrifices attention to detail and quality of characters. I don’t really know why she is not more well- known, but she really should be. So when I found this book I knew I was going to love it even before I started the book, and I was right. Ms. King does an exceptional job of introducing the nuances to her dystopian future without overwhelming the reader with too many details that take away from the story. The dialogue is whippet sharp and the characters are engaging individuals that you will easily come to care for as the story progresses. Tainted Love is a perfectly balanced urban fantasy tale that features a sweet romance, non-stop believable scenes, zombies, and a unique mystery filled with twist and turns. Read this as soon as you can, you will enjoy it!

Remy’s latest job is investigating the disappearances of several local people whose only connection to one another is their status as second class citizens in the new world order where you are a human, or you are not. Coming up with an explanation as to their whereabouts is the easy part, uncovering the mystery as to why they were taken in the first place increasingly leads the investigator into a labyrinth of lies and obfuscations that can lead to her death. Added to the mystery is an enigmatic and powerful male who will do anything to get her attention. Remy is willing to do almost anything to get her case solved, but is she willing to place her heart on the line for a man that she barely knows?

Book Blurb for Tainted Love

When Remington is sent undercover to locate seven missing persons, the last thing she expects is to find herself in the middle of a supernatural war. Finding her missing people isn’t a problem, but figuring out exactly how they went from being human to only slightly human isn’t so easy.

Complicating matters further is Vincent, everything Remy doesn’t need right now. He’s sexy, powerful and all too alluring. Unfortunately she needs his help to get to the bottom of what’s been going on in her city. He seems to have set his sights on having her, and Vincent is accustomed to getting exactly what he wants.

With a city full of zombies, a madman on the loose and her finances steadily heading down the drain, romance is the last thing Remington needs. But if she manages to stay alive long enough, she just might give love a try.

Blush sensuality level: This is a sweet romance (kisses only, no sexual content).
