Masseur

Playtime, #2

In Masseur, we are re-introduced to Edie and Jack, a couple who is rediscovering each other through each other in a very unorthodox way. A marriage counselor has challenged the couple to act out their most secret of desires in hopes that the couple will be able to re-establish the close bonds that they once shared before life and also its intricacies dropped the proverbial bomb on them. This time is Edie’s turn, and while her fantasy does not sound as provocative as Jack’s was does not mean that it will not end in with equally as satisfying results.

Masseur is just as fantastic of a read as Streetwalker. The characters are settling into their fantasy roles and seem to be more open to discussing their issues with one another instead of constantly blaming each other for their shortcomings. There is something fascinating about this couple as they go on their erotic journey as they engage in their steamy trysts and really begin to change their relationship. Veronica Towers does an excellent job in being able to draw a clear and concise view into this world. No one is a martyr as both Edie and Jack have their own faults in the demise of their relationship. Not everything they say or do is likeable but that is what makes this story so refreshing. It is in this story’s honest portrayal of a couple going to unexpected places is what makes this such a great read. This is the second installment (in what I hope is a long running series) by veronica towers but can easily stand on its own. But after you read this one you will be hooked, so you might as well go get Streetwalker as well. You will not be disappointed.
