Lady Isobel Hume has already been sold into a rotten marriage, and now the King wants her to marry for his political gain. She is resigned to do as her king demands, even though her heart belongs to another.
Sir Stephen Carleton had no desire to tie himself to one woman, not when he could enjoy the favors of many. When Lady Isobel is put into his care, he finds the temptation of her hard to resist. Can he protect her from himself and other more dangerous enemies? Would the king relent and allow them a future together?
Margaret Mallory has a knack of creating realistic characters you cheer and cry for. Her descriptions of the past leap from the pages making you feel as if you stepped back into time. I was enchanted by a young Stephen in KNIGHT OF DESIRE, and was please to see him grow into a charming warrior. I liked that Isobel had enough grit not to just do as he pleased. There was a challenge for both of them. Also Stephen and Isobel both had issues from their pasts that they needed to resolve before they could find happiness. I’m glad things were able to work for them.
I look forward to the next installment of “All the King’s Men” series.
THE GREATEST PASSION
Lady Isobel Hume is an expert swordswoman who knows how to choose her battles. When the king asks her to wed a French nobleman to form a political alliance, she agrees. But that's before the devilishly charming Sir Stephen Carleton captures her heart-and tempts her to betray her betrothed, her king, and her country.
IS WORTH THE GREATEST PERIL
Sir Stephen Carleton enjoys his many female admirers-until he dedicates himself to winning the lovely Isobel. So when a threat against the king leads Isobel into mortal danger, Stephen has a chance to prove that he is more than a knight of pleasure...and that love can conquer all.
