Knight of Passion

All the King's Men, #3

Sir James Rayburn and Lady Linnet were young lovers, until a chance for revenge caused Linnet to turn her back on Jamie's love. Fate has once again brought them together. Jamie has not forgotten how Linnet broke his young heart, but cannot deny the passion that flares between them. Soon they renew their affair, only for Linnet to once again have to face the choice of loving Jamie or finding vengeance.

Margaret Mallory has done a superb job creating a wonderfully crafted story in Medieval England. I usually veer away from any story with court intrigue, but I found Jamie and Linnet's book to be well worth my trip.

The passion Jamie and Linnet emitted for each other was enthralling. I just wish that she had been less stubborn. There were a few times that I really wanted to knock some sense into Linnet, some of her actions were not very bright, like when she stumbled onto the coven. Jamie made up for all of Linnet's shortfalls, I adored him and his loving ways.

I also loved the side romance of Owen Tudor and Queen Katherine, especially since it was based on their very real affair. It was a nice shot of history, even if it was probably a little fanciful. It's nice to think of historical figures finding love and happiness.

I look forward to venturing into more of Margaret Mallory's tales, and can't wait for her next book .
