The Twinkies Cookbook - Inside the Cookbook
The Twinkies Cookbook is fun and of great quality. I absolutely love the history of Twinkles section at the beginning of the book. I had no idea the filling began as banana instead of vanilla. I enjoyed looking at the old ads. I sure wish they were still 2 for 5 cents!
The first recipe is Twinkie sushi- love it! You simply wrap a green fruit snack around a section of cut up Twinkie and then stick small pieces of fruit on the top. It really looks like sushi. Set on a tray and serve with chopsticks. How fun is that? They even list the name of the person who sent in the recipe and where they are from. Each recipe is fairly simple. The only disappointment is the lack of pictures. Some recipes have them, but several don't. Seeing a section labeled 'Twinkles and Meat' was a little surprising, ha. The Twinkie wedding cake was cool. There is even an index in the book of this cookbook.
I believe anyone would have a good time reading through this short book and even trying many of the recipes. (There's a chocolate lover's section!) One of the most fun cookbooks I've ever read.
