The Ultimate Student Cookbook - Inside The Cookbook
The Ultimate Student Cookbook, by Tiffany Goodall, did not draw me in- at first. It may be the fact that I’m not a student? Luckily, I opened the cookbook to investigate further. The first page lists basic kitchen equipment. Suddenly I thought of my nephew. He recently graduated high school, just barely, bless his heart, but now he will be going out on his own. I doubt he knows what a whisk is, much less how to use one.
This is a very basic, but wonderful list. Just what a new cook needs. The pantry ingredients page is complete and doable.
On to the recipe sections- breakfast is first. I love this because breakfast is the most economical meal and most students are pinching pennies.
I always love pictures in cookbooks, I never rate one well without them. Well not only does this book have pictures of the finished dish; it has step-by-step pictures of how to make the dish. This is fabulous.
Every recipe is simple, budget friendly and so much healthier than fast food. There are even notes at the bottom to tell you what to do with the leftovers! By this point, the book I considered passing to my nephew, is mine, all mine. (I’ll buy him his own copy.)
It is rare to find a book that is useful for new and seasoned cooks. Well done, Tiffany, very well done.
