Current Release: Little Birdie Who...and Other Stories
Describe your current release in two sentences?
Little Birdie Who...and Other Stories features three romantic stories sure to tickle your funny bone. Included are: "This is NOT Working," "Check Her Out," and "Little Birdie Who."
What have you had to give up to pursue your writing career?
I was at a crossroads in my life when I began writing. #1 son in college and #2 in high school. On my way home from a funsister weekender, one of my friends played a game, asking the question, "Write the opening paragraph of a book using the word window." I had nothing because I was afraid to tell the truth-I wanted to write. Two days later, I'd written eight chapters. Upon showing them to my friend, she said, "Keep going."
What are you working on?
A story is under consideration with an e publisher. I'm working on two new Christmas stories.
What is your ultimate writing goal?
My biggest goal is to sell my three books. Otherwise, I shall keep writing my shorts as I like them.
Do you have a comfort food? What is it?
Do I! Too many. There's usually a can of diet Coke by my monitor. Chocolate within reach. I love most kinds of nuts. lol
Where is your favorite place to write?
I'm fortunate to have a small office with a loverly desk. Next to it is a window which looks into my yard. I get squirrels, lizards, and lots of birds as visitors. My kitty sits by my monitor too.
What career fields have you worked in?
I've done a lot of retail. I like helping customers find what they are looking for. And helped Handsome when he started his financial services brokerage firm. Then, there's the mom career. lol
What are your plans for the next year? Any books you are looking forward to?
To publish more of my short stories. I love to read! And on the non-reading side, to finish two craft projects.
How was your road to publication?
Slow, at least slow for me. I worked three years on my books. Took classes, joined RWA and my local chapter. Joined lots of yahoo groups. I wanted/want my work to be good, worthy of reading. When I began to write shorts, I sold pretty quickly. I've had twenty-two published.
If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?
This is interesting because I don't feel the need to travel in time. I like where I am and what I'm doing. However, I'm always up for a fun trip!
Thank you so much for visiting with me today. I hope you will get to read "Little Birdie Who...and Other Stories." And let me know what you think. :)
