Current Release: Humanless

Describe your current release in two sentences?

When Ava - a 18-year-old student from a wealthy family - meets Blake, she is stunned by his extraordinary beautiful appearance and unexpected rudeness. Little did she know, that he is Ares – the God of War himself, sent down to Earth to kill her. Something else she doesn’t know – he’s human and he has no intention of fulfilling his mission.

Please describe your writing environment.

I write mostly in my spare room. It's a cozy room, full of light and books. Seriously, I barely managed to squeeze a desk in there, the huge bookcase fills most of the space.

What are you working on?

At the moment I'm working on the sequel for Humanless.

What do you feel blessed with?

My family - my husband and my son. There's nothing more important to me than them.

What was your childhood ambition?

I wanted to be a witch and I wasn't shy telling people about it, to my mother's horror. On a more serious note, I've never been overly ambitious. In school most of the stuff came easy to me and I didn't have to try really hard which, in later life, turned into laziness. I've managed to overcome it and now that I've turned 30, I have ambitions, but not when I was a child.

What is your favorite TV show?

I have so many! I'm a true TV show addict! I love True Blood - it's an obsession of mine. But I also watch Desperate Housewives, Prison Break, Gossip Girl, Vampire Diaries, Lost... I also adore comedy series like Friends - I can watch it over and over again (and I have) and it's still funny! My latest discovery is Hart of Dixie - it's such a feel good show.

What career fields have you worked in?

I've been a journalist, an editor, a PR, a PA, an interior designer, a teacher and a translator among other things. I have the attention span of a 4 year old, and most things lose their sparkle quite quickly for me. But when the novelty of the new exciting job wears off, I always go back to writing. In the end I gave up and decided to explore writing as a full time career.

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

I'm going on a two week internet-free holiday to Italy - I'm just going to lie on the beach with a Mojito in one hand and a book in the other. I'm so looking forward to Josephine Angelini's Dreamless (the Starcrossed sequel), Becca Fitzpatrick's Finale (the Hush Hush series final book) as well as the brand new series from Amanda Hocking called Watersong.

How was your road to publication?

I tried querying agents but when I got a few rejections I decided that road wasn't for me. I've never been particularly patient so the thought of having to wait months and years for somebody to notice me was unbearable. So I decided to look into other options and with the indie publishing blossoming at that point, I decided to give it a go. I hired an editor and a cover artist and a few months later my book was published on Amazon.

If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?

I'd jump straight into Cassandra Claire's Shadowhunter world. I mean come on, who wouldn't want to meet Jace in the flesh?

I'd like to thank everyone who's downloaded Humanless, I really hope you enjoy it, and everyone who's been in touch to say they've enjoyed it. It means the world to me! The next book in the series will be coming out in November 2012. Please check my facebook page or twitter for updates.
