Interview

Hello Tamela,

Thanks for coming on Night Owl Romance.

Thanks for joining me today. To get us started can you please start by telling us a little about what you are working on or have coming out? I currently have a paranormal/contemporary romance, ANGEL'S FIRE, DEMON'S BLOOD, that was just released. It's a story of a 'ghost hunter'/writer that has been quite successful over the last decade but has a hidden secret. The character, Lucien D'Angel, is four hundred years old and is a 'gatherer of souls'.

Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

I'm a mother of five children, two step children and two grandchildren. I live out in the lovely southwest of Texas with my husband.

If you could be one of the characters from this book - Who would you be? And why?

Evangeline Keegan-she's gutsy and isn't afraid to say what is on her mind. She can think fast on her toes, as well. (Something I have always wished I could do)

Who or what influenced you when you wrote this book? Did you have a CD, Songs, environment, etc?

As I commented earlier, I have a grand total of nine children running around my house at all times. Four are teenagers and I am continuously bombarded with music videos. One day I was forced to watch a newly released song that my girls were oohing and ahhing over. Somewhere, in the middle of that man crooning and the beautiful graphics that were used on the video, the idea hit me.

Can you please give us a sneak peek into the book? Lucien D' Angel is a celebrated paranormal detective with a lucrative television show and numerous best selling books pertaining to the world that may exist beyond the human experience. He's managed to keep the proverbial low profile over the decades and has purposely stayed out of the public eye, due to a secret that he harbors. His life was perfect. Low keyed, private (except for the television shows) and orderly. That was, until Evangeline Keegan enters his life and disrupts the perfect facade that he had erected over the centuries. Despite all outward appearance, Lucien has been cursed for nearly four centuries, striving to maintain a some-what 'normal' existence in society. Due to the actions of his father, D' Angel the Destroyer, he has been cursed with the sight. He sees the spirits of the damned and those left behind at every twist and turn and he has been reluctantly assigned to gather their lost souls. It is a torment that he has endured, lacking any form of human contact and successfully evading the attention of his demonic twin, Julian. Julian is everything that Lucien is not and his goal is to destroy all that Lucien holds dear, never permitting the curse that has plagued them for so many centuries to end. Lucien has keep the secret of his identity well hidden behind a cool veneer of intelligence, but Eva soon learns that Lucien is a tortured and tormented soul who craves one thing, that she will refuse to grant him. His own death.

Please tell us what you have planned next?

I have a western (historical) currently in the very rough stages.

What kind of research did you do for this book? Did you enjoy the research process?

I did a lot of research-on name meanings, paranormal research and investigation techniques and Germanic inspired fairy tales. I, also, contacted a few of my myspace friends that are deeply involved in various fields of the paranormal and asked their thoughts. I LOVED the research---it was so informative.

What would you like to tell your readers?

I love them all. To take a chance and open up a new author's work, makes them fabulous.

Do you belong to a critique group? If so, how does this help or hinder you? No, I don't belong to a critique group.

Thanks for joining us again. Before you go please tell our readers how they can get your books and how to keep abreast of your work. Do you have a website, newsletter, etc.

You can find Angel's Fire, Demon's Blood at http://wildhorsepress.webs.com and at www.amazon.com. I do run a blog site on wordpress. Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books? As I mentioned earlier, Querida is the very rough stages, at this moment. I haven't even allowed my favorite critics (my girls) to scan it yet.
