Current Release: Legends of the Dragonrealm: Shade

Describe your current release in two sentences?

In a land of magic and dragons, the faceless sorcerer known to the Dragonrealm only as Shade suffers a curse that has made him both hero and villain to all. Cursed to suffering endless lives alternating between darkness and light, he believes that he has at last found escape...but the very land itself has intentions not only for the sorcerer, but the one woman who may be able to save him.

Please describe your writing environment.

I work in an office surrounded by the books I've enjoyed reading, plus my own, of course. I like to listen to instrumental music --- classical or movie scores --- that have that epic feel.

What are you working on?

A number of projects, but some I'm not permitted to mention. Aside from those, I am doing more Dragonrealm and am also working on the sequel to Dragon Mound. When I can announce some of the others, I'll be very happy!

What do you feel blessed with?

My family and the fact that I am able to do what I enjoy doing...telling stories that I hope others will enjoy. I couldn't ask for more.

What was your childhood ambition?

First to learn magic, then to become an archaeologist, then become a writer. Sort of full circle, I think.

What is your favorite TV show?

There are several, but Doctor Who would be one of the top. I've been watching it since the 3rd Doctor, Jon Pertwee. Still a great show!

What career fields have you worked in?

I've worked all parts of McDonalds, written resumes for people, worked in warehouse that encouraged me to continue my writing.

What are your plans for the summer? Any books you are looking forward to?

My deadlines and family situations have taken up my summer. As for books, I'm still behind on my reading, so looking forward to others will have to wait awhile. :)

How was your road to publication?

I was very fortunate. I had submitted a few things during high school and college, but didn't sell anything. However, I literally walked in off the street to one publisher, who agreed to look over some of my writing. They liked what they saw and asked me to contribute to a series called Dragonlance. That was a year and a half out of college. I then sold one of the samples and a sequel...and that began my career. I consider myself very fortunate and continue to work hard.

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

I would like to go back to the time of the dinosaurs just to see them in their full majesty. Naturally, I'd like to be well protected when I go back there!

I want to thank all my readers for continuing to enjoy my work and enabling me to continue doing what I love. I hope that people enjoy Shade! Please visit me on my website or find me on Facebook and Twitter.
