Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?

On a personal level, I am a wife and mother. Professionally, I write erotic romance for Ellora's Cave under the pen name, L.A. Day. My debut novel, Feral Domination released January 31, 2007. My genre of choice is paranormal, almost all my stories have some paranormal element.

If you could be one of your characters - Who would you be? And why?

I would have to say, Tara Montgomery from The Last Warrior. She is a witch and that would be cool but most importantly she gets to be with Lone Wolf. Lone Wolf is a Yahi warrior transported from 1866 to 2007. He's a true alpha male.

What's your favorite genre to read?

Paranormal, erotic romance or western romance.

Who or what influences you when you write?

My mother was a huge influence on me.

What do you do on a typical writing day?

Unfortunately, I work full time so my writing is done at night and on the weekends. Usually after dinner I send at least an hour or two on the computer.

When you have writer's block how do you break free?

I read. I don't read a story similar to what I'm writing because I don't want to influence my story but reading relaxes me.

Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?

I mention The Last Warrior above and it is my next release on March 16 th.

It is the story of a modern day Wiccan who falls for her dream lover. Sensing he's in danger she pulls him from 1866 to 2007. Getting him here was the easy part.

Please tell us what you have planned next?

I'm finishing a SciFi erotic romance of Ellora's Cave. Hopefully, it will be part of the Hunter's for Hire series.

In 5 years, where do you see yourself? -In general and in you're writing career

In 5 years, my daughter will be almost 18, Yay! I imagine I'll still be married to my long time husband, unfortunately I'll be pushing 50 by then! Professionally, I hope to be writing full time.

Who is your perfect hero? And why?

My hero is my husband, Jack. He's a keeper. Not only is he gorgeous but he's house broken!

What do you do for inspiration?

Life inspires me. I draw inspiration from everything, a conversation, the TV, something I see. My mind goes nonstop, the only problem is turning it off.

Is there a genre of book you would like to write but haven't yet?

What type of book have you always wanted to write?

I grew up wanting to write mainstream romance now I can't imagine writing anything but erotic romance.

What kind of research do you do for your books? Do you enjoy the research process?

I love researching paranormal elements. Of course, much of my writing is totally fictional and I draw upon an overactive imagination.

Do deadlines help or hinder your muse?

I'm usually way ahead of my deadline.

When did you first decide to submit your work? Please, tell us what or who encouraged you to take this big step.

My mom always encouraged me to write.

What would you like to tell your readers?

I hope they enjoy reading my stories as much as I enjoy writing them.

Do you outline your books or just start writing?

I used to try to outline my stories but my characters have a mind of their own and they never end up where I planned to take them. Now, I just write as it comes to me.

What was your first published work and when was it published?

Feral Domination was my debut novel and it published January 31, 2007 from Ellora's Cave.
