Current Release: Hart's Destiny
Describe your current release in two sentences?
Leader of a prominent wolf-shifter clan, Jackson was thrust into power under the most mysterious of circumstances. He can't remember a time when he'd lost control of his desires, just as he can't risk revealing family secrets to a beautiful stranger.
Please describe your writing environment.
I have a laptop and a net book I can use anywhere, but I really love sitting at my desktop computer in my comfy chair (minus the Spanish Inquisition). I think it helps to have a bit of a routine when it comes to writing. Plus, there is a couch in my little office for my dog to sleep on. I wouldn't want her to be uncomfortable while I was writing, lol.
What are you working on?
I am currently working on the second book in the Hart Land Shifter series, called 'Distant Harts'. It's really great, too, because I get to do a lot of research on Ireland for this one and I love it.
If you had to choose one person to have dinner with, who would it be? And why?
I'd want to have dinner with Elvis, for sure! Well...as long as I didn't have to be deceased to join him...Young Elvis, though. Or Captain Kirk! Same goes for him, too - young Captain Kirk :)
What is your favorite TV show?
I really adore the new Dr Who series. At first I wasn't sure I'd like the 11th doctor, but really, I fell in love with him right away. How could I not? Bow ties are cool!
What career fields have you worked in?
Aside from my writing, I work in a very fun and exciting field right now. We do the Star Buses and Entertainment Coaches for music tours. I've done it for a lot of years and it's always crazy and unpredictable. I think that's what I like about it. I'll have to stay until my dream there can one day be fulfilled - A tour with Duran Duran :)
Where do you want to travel?
I have to say that I do a lot of research for the books I write, and I always want to go to the places I study. None more so than Peru, however. I loved all the history of the Incan culture and legends. There is a lot of mystery and magic surrounding lost civilizations there and I would love to experience it firsthand.
Did you know, there was actually a tribe in Northern Peru, described by the conquistadors as having the whitest of white skin, as well as blond hair and blue eyes? Not a lot is known about them, but I'd sure love to find out more.
How was your road to publication? Have you every had to deal with rejection letters?
I was very lucky. I was contracted by Black Lyon Publishing for my first book 'The Medallion of Solaus'. They are a dream to work with and though I do branch out in other genres on occasion, I always come back to them whenever I can. I've gotten a few rejection letters in my time, but I always tell myself: You can't get a rejection letter if you haven't written a book, look at that accomplishment already!
What is the one thing you do not want to live without?
I never want to live without love. I think it's the last true magic in the world.
What is the best thing about being an author?
Wow, the best thing about being an author for sure is meeting people. I have the most intelligent, fun readers you can imagine and I love talking to them.
If you could live in a world created by an author, which book / world would you jump into?
I really would have to choose Middle Earth. When I was a child, I read the hobbit so many times everyone became worried about me. I actually learned how to write Gandalf the Grey in Elven runes and memorized the sheet music for 'The Road Goes Ever On and On'. I'm still not over it...
If you made it all the way to the end of the interview, bless your heart! Thank you for listening to me chatter. I hope folks will stop by my website or Facebook so we can talk more about Life, the Universe and Everything...
