Current Release: Buried Threads – Threads series, #2

What's your book about?

Rachel Lyons and her partner Chase Cohen accept a contract to recover a lost priceless treasure in the Sea of Japan. However, upon arriving in Tokyo, they soon discover their mission is more complicated and dangerous than they originally believed. In order to prevent a natural disaster from striking Japan and killing millions, they must form an alliance with yakuza members, dive into shark-infested waters and recover three ancient cursed swords from a haunted tomb before time runs out.

What should readers expect from you titles?

Non-stop action, plenty of suspense, and the added bonus of an ongoing romantic relationship.

What is your favorite way to procrastinate?

Play on Facebook, chat with friends and escape in our gardens with a nice chilled glass of white wine.

Getting a book to market often takes a village. Who has helped you on the way?

Many folks! Fellow writers, critic partners, loyal friends, bookstore owners, Amazon's CreateSpace, KDP and my eldest daughter, who is a talented author in her own right.

If you could have dinner with an author, who would it be?

Would love to have dinner with Lisa Jackson, who I am fortunate to have met and spent a little time with at my home. I would enjoy nothing more than picking her brain and discovering the new titles she’s currently writing.

If you could travel to another time, would you choose past or future or would you stick where you are at? And Why?

The past seems romantic and less stressful than current times, and the future appears to be unpredictable with the current state of affairs. To be perfectly honest, I’m in a great place in my life with healthy, happy family members, travel opportunities, a far range of hobbies, community projects, book releases, and being surrounded by wonderful people I’ve come to know and love.

What's your everyday life like? Do you write full-time or do you also hold another job?

I walk for about an hour on my treadmill at 8am, which gives me time to catch up with the news, watch a movie, and attempt to keep in shape. Then after showering and dressing, I enjoy a light breakfast before getting busy with emails, social posting, and running through my list of to dos. At about 10am every day, I review my last written chapter and start writing until around 3pm. At that time, I try to get my house chores done and run my errands before family members descend and my outside social life begins.

Do you feel music has inspired your writing?

Definitely! I always listen to music when I write and particularly like listening to old 1980 songs on the radio. When it’s too quiet in my library or other parts of the house, I actually have trouble concentrating. :)

What books have you analyzed to help grow yourself as an author?

I’ve enjoyed reading craft books – especially On Writing Well by William Zinsser, Characters & Viewpoint by Orson Scott Card, and Heroes & Heroines by Tami Cowden, Caro LaFever and Sue Viders. For anyone just starting out as a writer, these are great research books to have on hand!

Are you an introvert or extrovert?

I used to be more of an introvert, but after opening up a non-profit foundation and having opportunities to speak in front of crowds, I’ve become more of an extrovert…like my super dynamic husband, who is always encouraging me to be independently strong . :)

What's next for you as an author?

I’m currently working on the next installment in the Threads series – Banished Threads, which takes my treasure hunting crew to England in search of stolen art. After opening and running an art galley for 7 years, I’m finally tapping into my experience in the business, which is lots of fun!
