Interview

Thanks for joining me today on Night Owl Romance.

Tammie King of NOR: To get us started can you please start by telling us a little about what you are working on or have coming out?

K.M. Daughters: BEYOND THE CODE OF CONDUCT, 2nd in our Sullivan Boys Romantic Suspense series releases from The Wild Rose Press on May 20, 2009. But we've discovered it's already available online at Amazon and Barnes and Noble. We'll begin line edits of book three in the series soon. Tammie King of NOR: Could you please tell us a little about yourself?

K.M. Daughters: K.M. Daughters is the penname for team writers and sisters, Pat Casiello and Kathie Clare nee Lynch. Our author name is dedicated to the memory of our parents, Katherine and Michael, the "K" and "M" in K.M. Daughters. Inspired by our father who wrote children's books for them when they were small and Mom's love of romance novels, K.M. Daughters was "born" a little under five years ago at a Romance Writers of America national conference when we plotted our first manuscript, now published in E-book by Sapphire Blue Publishing: Past, Present and Forever.

Since that conference, K.M. Daughters has written five additional award-winning novels, all contracted to The Wild Rose Press and its new subsidiary, White Rose Publishing. Most recently the 1st book in The Sullivan Boys Romantic Suspense series was distinguished in The Lories published contest; Past, Present and Forever received the a Reviewer's award and their upcoming release, Beyond The Code of Conduct was rated 4-stars, compelling, page turner, in the June 2009 issue of Romantic Times Book Review.

K.M. Daughters resides in Illinois and New Jersey with husbands Nick and Tom, a total of five children and two grandchildren between them.

Tammie King of NOR: If you could be one of the characters from this book - Who would you be? And why?

K.M. Daughters: Bobbie Leighton. She's strong, accomplished, determined in a man's world, but unapologetically feminine, which in our opinion heightens her power.

Tammie King of NOR: Who or what influenced you when you wrote this book? Did you have a CD, Songs, environment, etc?

K.M. Daughters: This is a difficult question for a team to answer. We certainly were influenced by our shared love of two cities to set the book in New York and Chicago. Growing up in Northern New Jersey just outside New York, the city represented fun and excitement. Pat was transplanted to Chicago years ago and K.M. Daughters fell in love with the Second City, too.

Tammie King of NOR: Can you please give us a sneak peek into the book?

K.M. Daughters: Of course, we'd be delighted.

The Sullivan Boys series, Book 2

FBI Agency brass and Sullivan family connections force Special Agent Bobbie Leighton into an undercover operation with inactive Homicide Detective Joe Sullivan. Posing as a cattleman and his arm-candy wife the couple is assigned to infiltrate Bradley Sterling's illegal operation. Suspected of baby trafficking, Sterling may be connected with Jimmy Sullivan's murder. How do Bobbie and Joe adhere to their professional code of conduct living under the same roof? Can they forget their personal history, ignore their volatile feelings for each other and ensnare their target when they might be next on Sterling's victims list?

Tammie King of NOR: Please tell us what you have planned next?

K.M. Daughters: Our inspirational romance seqeul Rose of the Adriatic releases from White Rose Publishing July 31, 2009. The working title for Book 3 in the Sullivan Boys Series is Capturing Karma.

Our WIP is the 4th book in the series.

Tammie King of NOR: What kind of research did you do for this book? Did you enjoy the research process?

K.M. Daughters: Several careers are entwined in the Sullivan Series - primarily medicine and law enforcement. We've interviewed and consulted several medical professionals, a resident, a surgeon and most recently Pat's neighbors: an ER doctor and a pediatrician. Also we've consulted (bugged) Lieutenant, now Commander Frank Cargola, Rosemont, IL, PD. We enjoyed our conversations/research very much, and hope our generous consultants did, too.

Our inspirational romances are set in the Adriatic and involve Marian apparitions. We have traveled to several Marian sites: Lourdes, Fatima and Medjugorje - not specifically as research but in retrospect it turned out that way. Actually the visits inspired the two books, not the other way around.

Tammie King of NOR: What would you like to tell your readers?

K.M. Daughters: Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for finding us.

Tammie King of NOR: Do you belong to a critique group? If so, how does this help or hinder you?

K.M. Daughters: We have a built-in critique group in the team writing partnership. Absolutely invaluable.

Tammie King of NOR: Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?

K.M. Daughters: The July release Rose of the Adriatic: Wounded and faithless, Dr. Matthew Robbins arrives in a small Croatian village determined to discredit the visionary who claims to see the Mother of God. Matt believes only proven facts, and he's sure Anna Babic is either lying or delusional. But, despite all his unpopular testing, he can't disprove Anna's visions--and what's worse, he finds himself falling for the beautiful visionary who speaks with the blessed Virgin Mary.

Anna has experienced skeptics in the past, and they've never left a lasting effect. But Matt is different. Despite his open disbelief and vehemence to discredit her, she finds herself hoping he'll change his mind.

Drawn together as if by a heavenly hand, can Anna choose a life as the wife to her unlikely match? Can Matt believe on faith alone that God loves him enough to heal him and free him to love Anna?

Here's a sneak peek at Book 3 - Capturing Karma, Coming soon from The Wild Rose Press. Veterinarian Matty Connors' visions lead her to homicide detective Brian Sullivan again despite her resolve to remain anonymous the past four years. Her official work with the police in California resulted in the brutal murder of her fianc‚, a recurrent nightmare she barely survives. The reputed ladies man of the Sullivan family, Brian has never given his heart to a woman until sultry Matty claims it. His black-and-white approach to solving crimes doesn't jibe with Matty's spooky pronouncements or her reputation for so-called infallibility. A wild goose chase searching for a murder weapon casts doubt on Matty's "truths" and threatens their romance. Is Brian her nightmare slayer and ultimate truth? When the puzzle pieces fall in place for Brian, will it be too late to save Matty?

Tammie King of NOR: Is there anything else you would like to share with readers?
