Current Release: Rancher to the Rescue

Describe your current release in two sentences?

When a big, splashy wedding goes awry, the bride, on the run from the paparazzi, is aided by a reluctant rancher. As their attraction mounts, they'll find their future plans are about to be revised in ways neither of them could have ever predicted.

What have you had to give up to pursue your writing career?

I don't know if I had to give up anything for my writing except the day job. ;-) I think it's more about learning to re-balance things. Sure I don't get to read as much as I'd like, but then again if I read as much as I want I'd never get anything else done.

What are you working on?

I'm currently working on my next book for Harlequin Romance. There's been a bit of a change with the editorial direction for Harlequin Romances so this book will be a little different than my first two releases. More urban. More aspirational. But the hero is just as dreamy! And did I mention he's rich, powerful and has a heart of gold hidden behind a protective wall?

What is your ultimate writing goal?

My ultimate writing goal is to continue writing stories that touch the reader. Whether it's to bring a smile to their lips, a tear to their eye or a wispy sigh as they read "The End". If I can do that, my goal will have been met and I will be exceedingly happy.

Do you have a comfort food? What is it?

You mean I can only pick one??? LOL. I guess if I could only pick one, it'd be pancakes. My hubby knows when he comes home to a pancake dinner that something is amiss.

Where is your favorite place to write?

I write on my laptop so I end up writing in various rooms in the house. But my favorite place to write is on my porch with the sun shining, a gentle breeze and the humming birds playing in the flower garden.

What career fields have you worked in?

I used to work in the insurance industry as a senior statistician. I spent my days analyzing premium and loss figures. I really enjoyed researching the fluctuations, but my greatest love was weaving HEA's. So when I was given a chance to chase my dream, I gave up the day job and entered a world full of the most intriguing fictional characters.

What are your summer plans? Any books you are looking forward to?

The highlight of my summer is the launch of my debut, RANCHER TO THE RESCUE. It's a lifelong dream come true. As for books I'm looking forward to reading...how much space do you have? :-) Harlequin has a number of debut authors out this summer and I'm looking forward to reading their releases.

How was your road to publication?

Long and twisty. But with each twist and turn, I learned so much. I might not have sold as soon as I'd hoped, but I think I sold at the right time for me. Selling right out of the gate wouldn't have given me a chance to fill my writer's toolbox with the tools I'll need for what I hope is a long, fulfilling journey.

If you could time travel, where would you travel to and why?

If I could time travel I'd go back in time to England during the Regency period. I'd like to wear a fancy gown, attend a ball or two and experience life as part of the ton. But it'd have to be a brief visit as I'm quite partial to modern conveniences and I don't know how long I could exist without my internet. ;-)

Thank you for having me. I really hope readers will enjoy my debut. I had a lot of fun writing Cash and Meghan's story. They worked really hard to reach their HEA. I hope their story will bring a smile to your heart.
