Until Emie | Red Sage Publishing Inc. | Erotic Romance | September 1, 2010

Please tell us your latest news!

My novella, Until Emie, is releasing today!

If you had to do it all over again, would you change anything in your latest book?

Good question! I've worked on it, revised it and changed it so much, I'm thinking I'd crack if I did change it. But I'm not adverse to following my editor's suggestions. Editors see many things we authors may have missed or not thought of while writing. I couldn't ignore that.

Who is your favorite author and what is it that really strikes you about their work?

I have so many favorites. If I have to choose then it's Sarah McCarty. I just love her voice and style of writing. Her heroes are always so hot and easy to fall in love with and the heroines deserve them.

Do you have a specific writing style?

I'm wondering that myself. :-) I have, but I think it's developing or emerging even stronger as I improve my craft. I think it's a continuous process.

Do you see writing as a career?

Oh, I do! I've wanted this for so long and I'm honing my skills to make it happen. I'm crossing my fingers for continued success.

Do you recall how your interest in writing originated?

I think it all started when I immersed myself in reading romances. I can't imagine a better occupation:creating worlds, characters and settings while manipulating them into a rich entertaining story. ...Oh and you get to work in your jammies! Who would complain?

Do you have any advice for other writers?

I know they've heard this over and over, but never give up. Keep plucking at their stories as they refine their talents. Perseverance and determination are key in this business.

How does your family feel about having a writer in the family? Do they read your books?

They love it! They're very proud. My sisters don't read erotic romance, so I'm keeping my erotic stories away from them. I don't want them to know I think like that! *wink*

What did you do before you became a writer? Do you write full time?

I'm a teacher by day. I'd love to write full time someday.

What is your writing process? Do you outline, fly by the seat of your pants or a combination of both?

Well, I'm definitely a pantser at heart, but I've learned my lesson and combine the two now. I can't let my muse take total control; it gets me into too much trouble, and it's so worth the effort to outline and map a story.

Do you have a favorite object that is pertinent to your writing? If so what is it and please describe it. (Pen, Coffee Cup, Pet, Blanket, Chair)

Not really. I love listening to music while I write. It not only drowns out the noise my daughter makes, but gets me into the moods I need for any given scene I'm writing.

Do you have a ritual when it comes to writing? Example..get coffee, blanket, paper, pen and a comfy place

No, maybe that's what's missing! *grin*

What main genre do you write in?

Erotica / Spicy Romance
