Hello Deidre,

The girls of Night Owl Romance are pleased that you have granted us an interview

We would love to get to know you.

Could you please start by telling us a little about yourself?

I'm an author and literary agent, a true southern woman because I was born and raised in Atlanta. I now live in a small, quaint town, Madison, Georgia, where the upcoming series ?October, Road? has been partially filmed. At least the pilot. :) But I'm claiming it. Other shows and movies filmed in my town were ?I'll Fly Away? and ?In the Heat of the Night? (which I actually worked on many moons ago?and in another lifetime altogether.)

I'm blessed with an amazing husband who supports me in all my crazy endeavors, whether they be agenting, writing, crocheting or walking sixty miles in three days as I recently did (well attempted!) in the Breast Cancer 3 Day. I enjoy being outside when it's warm, hanging by the pool or swimming or walking. And in the winter, I love snowmobiling and want to learn to snow ski better.

If you could be one of your characters ? Who would you be? And why?

Ah, this is a surprisingly easy one for me. I would be the FBI linguist Hope Harper. I mean, right off the bat I love languages, and even recently bought Rosetta Stone to brush up on my French. But along the way, I've realized I can do mini-lessons with the Rosetta program (for free) on Tagalog (the Pilipino language), Swahili, German? basically you can sample all kinds of languages. So, yes, I admire Hope's ability with language. She's the only character in the series who is truly successful in mastering the aliens' language of Refarian.

More than that, though, she's just my kind of girl. Totally tough, but not afraid of her femininity. She backs down from absolutely *nothing*--she's tried surfing and snowboards despite being almost blind. I'm just so happy that her book, PARALLEL SEDUCTION is finally hitting shelves in a few weeks. Another word for Hope would be *spirit*. She has it in spades, and I would love to be even more like her. Besides, who wouldn't find it cool to work for the FBI, at least for one day???

What's your favorite genre to read?

Easy?romance. Although I do also like bigger books that have romantic elements, novels like THE TIME TRAVELER'S WIFE which remains an all-time favorite or PRIDE AND PREJUDICE. But generally? I'm a Lisa Kleypas, Julia Quinn, Gena Showalter, Susan Grant, Catherine Spangler, etc and, so on, fan. I hate even naming authors because I love the work of so many (which is why over time I try to spread the love in different interviews! LOL!)

Who or what influences you when you write?

Probably my hormones! LOL! Seriously?some days I'm just in a brain fog and I can tell it's just some kind of hormonal deal. Other times I'm so prolific and focused, it's almost scary. Music has always played a role in my writing, but not nearly so much lately. Not sure why not, and I'd like to get back to that.

What do you do on a typical writing day?

Work at the agency first. LOL. Seriously, there just isn't much of a typical writing day unless it's on the weekend and my mom has my kids. In that case, I start early and write for about 14 hours. But the usual daily writing routine is to write for a while after my kids are in bed?and I'm usually into fumes as far as energy. I'd love to have more writing time!

When you have writer's block how do you break free?

I have a few secret weapons in my mighty arsenal! LOL! One, I re-read my work and refresh my connection?especially in writing a series where I can read earlier books. Or if I'm midway on the book, I go back to page one and re-read. Another is I do something completely unrelated, like go out with my hubby and play or go to a movie. Read a book by someone new. That kind of thing.

Can you please give us a sneak peek at any of your upcoming books?

Absolutely. The third in my series, PARALLEL SEDUCTION, publishes on April 3, and is a really emotional and sexy love triangle story. I don't want to give anything away, but if you're read the series, this focuses on Hope Harper and Scott Dillon?Jared's second in command. Hope, as mentioned above, is the FBI linguist who has found herself caught up in their war.

After that, December sees the publication of the next in the series, PARALLEL DESIRE. More details on that to follow! :)

In 5 years, where do you see yourself? -In general and in you're writing career.

This is so impossible to say. I know that I'll definitely be continuing with the agency?that's a lifetime career for sure. And I love, love writing, and love writing paranormals, so hopefully I'll still be full-steam ahead with them, maybe this series or maybe something else entirely since I certainly have plenty of other ideas! And I'll be thinner. LOL.

Who is your perfect hero? And why?

Definitely my husband?he's smart, sexy, and very funny. Humor is a must for me in the perfect hero. I like a tough guy with a hidden soft side, and again, that would be my own dear hubby.

What do you do for inspiration?

I love watching movies and they always give me tons of ideas. My subconscious has a way of engaging in a wonderful way while I chill with a movie or favorite television show.

Is there a genre of book you would like to write but haven't yet?

I'm very interested in Young Adult and also women's fiction. I wrote a women's fiction novel a few years ago, and we came close to placing it, but didn't ever find that perfect home. It was definitely different, edgy, and that appeals to me in terms of women's fiction.

What was your first published work and when was it published?

PARALLEL ATTRACTION, the first book of the Midnight Warriors series was published last April. My latest book, PARALLEL SEDUCTION, is the third in the series, and then PARALLEL DESIRE hits shelves in December.
